Eid al-Adha is celebrated every year to commemorate Prophet Ibrahim’s faith and devotion.
It is also called the ‘Festival of Sacrifices’, since the occasion also symbolizes giving away the most precious things, suggesting that one must be willing to give up the things they value most.
This is why the true spirit of Eid al-Adha lies in sharing and caring. People carry out the same by distributing the sacrificed meat to family members, the poor, and the needy. It is a joyous occasion where families come together, prayers are offered, kitchens are packed and time in the kitchen gets longer and more hectic.
